so many things happened just within the past few days. we didnt get into the top 3 for our cheer (but we are still performing it on sports day), i went to watch the sdt performance, and my aunty and her family left for mozambique.

the sdt performance was okay. bolero was really nice. i like the sugar plum fairy costume. :) went to the library after that. it's really cool. :) lots of artsy stuff.

Ee ee, uncle anthony, netanya and samara left today. 9 months just pass so fast. now they'll be away for another 2 years or so. in africa, they will be going to a new village where no missionary has ever gone before. so they will be the only family there that is not african. and i think that the village is 100% muslim. so pray for safety for the family.

i didnt know that 9 months would cause such a strong bond to be forged between us. it was really heartbreaking to let them go, away from the safety of our sunny singapore into new lands to share God's word. but they are ready and willing to go, and i really admire them for that. observing samara today, i realised she didnt know exactly what was going on. she was excited to carry her little backpack around and observe the happenings around her. however, on reaching the airport, she was lost and helpless. everyone was saying bye to her, and there were so many people intimidating her. i am really going to miss them very much. well, as grandpa says, the best thing we can do is to pray for them. and so to all my christian friends out there who know this family, please pray for them. they really need us.

i also realised that some people did not want to let go. they were in a state of denial and wanted everything to go their way. but it did not happen. God called them to go, and so go they must. He called them there to do his will so we must trust him to take care of them the same way they do.

Spirit of the Class Competition today.

oh dear. when the thing first started, it actually looked quite good for us. cos the sec 3's went first. not that they were that bad la. we were once there too. but the sec 4s were superly good. oh dear. not sure if we are up to standard. pe had a lot of energy and gy had enthusiasm plus good percussion. gr's was just cool. sigh. at least we tried. and i embarrassed myself. :)

i know how to upload my photos now. yay.

we were so far behind in class stuff at 1.30pm today, but now i think we are the fastest class! we rock at rushing things. :) and we hid it under all the posters. so it looks like a table now. haha. our morale is finally going up. got in for dramafest semis and our cheer looks not that bad. still needs quite a bit of work though. our wacky ideas are finally taking shape. yay. cant wait to see the results.

AUDREY IS UTTERLY STUPID.

on saturday i went with charmaine and kat to watch shannon perform in the vocal consort concert at vch. they are really good lah. you rock man shan, except that you always have a very funny face before the beginning of each song. :) then we went to bk, sat and ate. kat had to go back :( then charmaine and i cabbed down to church. i gave directions. yay. i actually have a sense of direction. haha. the ppl in church had just finished their first movie. then, i studied bio for the duration of the next 2 movies. i cant believe i actually mugged bio. yuck. so instead of watching movies (which by the way i find quite pointless), i studied bio. and charmaine did chem. haha. we are so weird. then we played for a while till about 3.35am. then knocked out. the girls slept in the cryroom. ie. sandra, terina, charmaine and me. :) we ate prata for brakfast. yuan shuai didnt dare to cos desmond scared him so badly about the bacteria in the prata. haha. but it was good. my eyelids were so droopy during sermon though. i had to go wash my face to stay awake. i am going to fail my bio test.

oh. i want to do the contemp piece. i hope i get picked. love sc dance. i dont wanna leave! :(

tee hee. HIGH!!! yay

kat, ben, josh, matt and mark came over today. kat and i rented the movie first daughter. haha. we made the guys watch it. then we kinda did some homework. though i only managed to do a few a math questions. oh dear. i think i am becoming stupid. sigh. and we ate chicken abalone flavoured instant noodles, campbell chicken/mushroom soup, beancurd wrapped chicken for dinner. haha. we forced matt to eat up the remaining noodles. cos he needs to gain weight. played guesstures. it's like charades. so funny. love ya all!!

ooh. we did jumping east so many times today. it was fun, but tiring. i hope i get to do jumping and sylpides for the concert. and hsien fa's contemp piece. oh dear. i am asking for so much this year. what if i dont get it? and what is my whole purpose in wanting to do so many items anyways? everything happens according to God's divine plan so i'm entrusting this to God. please help me not to be too disappointed if i cannot do as many items as i would like to. oh.

babysat at aunty heather's today. at first there were three kids, eli and 2 other little girls. they were colouring and drawing at first. then they had snack time. each one 5 zoo biscuits. i think i ate more than 5 tho. haha. and kat and i ate chickpeas and drank lemon barley. aunty heather is so nice! she even got food and drink for us. then eli and the older gal watched larry-boy. a cartoon vegetales thing. it was quite good. tho i didnt really understand what was going on. :) then the 2 gals left. so it was just kat eli me and aunty lailin. we coloured with him. haha. i really miss colouring. it's so fun! :) and eli has this special book and markers. the markers can only draw in that special book and will only colour within the lines! haha. kat and i were discussing the chemical rxn that was probably taking place to make the colour show. high tech colouring book. kids nowadays are so privilleged. we brought him to the playground to play. he is so hyper. we were dying already and he was still running around.

had a prayer workshop in church. realised how we are so stuck to that one way of praying in small groups that we find it so hard to accept new unconventional methods. and yet within small groups you can really feel God's presence. and they are pretty heartening too. prayer is a privellge. but no one ever is overjoyed to pray at the end of our sunday sch lessons. why is that so? why can i only pray when i am alone but i cant seem to verbalise my thoughts when there are others around me?

just visited jan's blog. and when you enter the song "i can't smile without you" starts playing. she posted pictures on adventure camp. whoosh a whole lot of memories just flooded my mind.

sec 2 adventure camp. okay. so it wasnt that fun. but still, we did bond, if not a lot at least a little. and we sang that song so frequently. if the camp was overnight it might have been better. oh well. we won the sandcastle building competition. and the dragonboat races. though we were the last to finish the amazing race, it was really an experience full of laughter and fun.

then sec 3 obs. it was really memorable. considering i got sandfly bites that lasted 2 weeks after obs. :) we had to take care of ourselves, carry our own food and rubbish. kayaking, tent-pitching, cooking, ooh. i really miss it. and of course the quarry. that made us all so high. belaying annthea the super good rock wall climber (aka monkey). our wonderful instructor namjin. who took care of us so well. and he wasnt usually an instructor so we got away with many things. we were his last group. he was going to leave obs. and on the last day we formed a circle around him and sang him that song. sniff sniff.

oh. life was so fun then.

waste not want not. what does that mean? it just popped into my head. okay. that was so random.

we had class today. it was really good. i think i am improving. and i can feel my body working with me, not against me. yay. so next step. get better extensions. streeetttchh. and my turns. i hope im in the contemp item. and the chinese one. it's really quite nice and flowy. (:

oh. we gave ben his birthday present on sunday. a box filled with 16 different types of sweets! because it's his sweet sixteen!! haha. each one of us got him 2 types of sweets. us being kat, charmaine, jan, josh, matt, mark, nic and i. and of course a card. which we always get people. and then we all went to visit aunty thelma. she fractured her leg.

upset with my chem marks. i could do so much better. sigh. we will never be contented, will we? but i'm quite happy with my chinese marks. although i didnt pass. (: i think our cohort will just die for our o's if it is this hard. haha.

celebrated samara's birthday today. she's only 2 and she could blow out the candles!! so cute. i'll post the photos when i figure out how to upload the photos from my phone to the com. yes.

yay. today i got to sleep in. only need to report to school at 1.15pm :) cos sec 1s are in malacca, sec 2s at adventure camp, and sec 3s at obs. bet they're all enjoying themselves now. but nevermind. sec 4s can have fun too! did cip at bishan yesterday. had to go door to door to collect old newspapers and unwanted items. did it with se ppl. fuzzeh, hil, ama, ariati, clara, chi wei, char and epi. some interesting experiences:

1. clara, hil and i had been going door to door for about 45 mins already. so we roughly knew where to find the doorbell, or knock the door or rattle the gate or shout "is anyone home?". haha. so we came up to this flat. the gate had several fliers stuck in it, but there were shoes outside. so we went up to the door and started looking for the door bell. then clara knocked the door (or maybe she didnt i dont remember), and i saw something. so we stepped back and saw that the gate was splashed with paint. i dont know how we could have missed it earlier. maybe the paint wasnt so obvious cos it was brown. and we saw this little card pasted on the door. i thought it was some electricity thing. but it was this professionally printed card with this debt management logo printed on it. and it said something like "owe:$57,000". it even had a website address. haha. fuzzeh memorized the add. it's really scary how such things can happen. and how ppl have to resort to borrowing money from these loansharks.

2. fuzzeh's grp collected so much on one floor, that when all the stuff was put into the lift, the overweight buzzer sounded, and they had to take out some of the stuff. :)

3. clara and i went to this house where this lady and her mother gave us so much stuff. like 5 bags of clothes, and stacks and stacks of newspapers. and she said," i think you should ask some boys to come and help you carry all this. oh. but you're from a girls' school." haha. we managed. with 3 other helpers.

4. hil, clara and i met this nice lady who told us that she hadnt received the flyer so she didnt know that we were coming. but she offered to donate money, and when we said no need, she gave us each a can of peach tea. and she kept apologising about how she didnt have any ice. so nice.

5. there were some houses with doggy smells and bird calls, and some were shut up so tight it really makes your heart palpitate when you press the doorbell.

6. at the second block we did, we collected so much that each of us could sit on one stack of papers each and there were still extra papers. and one stack is slightly higher than knee height.

7. the gy girls came to help us at the last block. one of the ladies tried to sell beverly insurance. :)

many of the houses i looked into had many statues of gods and altars. made me feel very sad. how is it that there are still so many who do not know God? they have to resort to praying to porcelin figurines and offering food to these idols. how can they be gods if they need you to provide for them? they dont seem to get it. but i was really glad that we were all indirectly helping to share the gospel. cos all the collections were in aid of breakthrough missions, a christian organisation that helps ex- drug convicts. they have Bible lessons and the director of the organisation is a pastor. amazing how a secular school like mine can help to facilitate the work of Christ. well, God works in amazing ways.
